This group focuses on consciousness-raising—helping members explore their experiences, understand power structures, and use that knowledge to inspire change.
Our Shared Aims:
- Reduce, prevent and ameliorate the harmful impacts of workplace psychological hazards.
- Empower action.
- Increase awareness of workplace dynamics and related social issues.
- Promote positive transformation and reform.
Agreed Guidelines for Participation
Our agreement about process includes
Respectful participation: We seek to maintain a non-hierarchical environment where everyone is expected to speak, but no one is required to.
Please –
-
- Be Kind and Considerate: Treat all members with respect, empathy, and understanding.
- Listen attentively to what others are saying, and try not to interrupt (except for clarification).
- Avoid Personal Attacks: Refrain from making personal attacks, insults, or derogatory comments.
- Stay on Topic: Keep discussions relevant to the topic at hand.
- Use Appropriate Language: Avoid using offensive, abusive, or discriminatory language.
Candour and confidentiality: We agree to be honest and confidential. No one should repeat what others say outside of the group. Please maintain anonymity as much as possible, e.g. avoid using proper names, naming of organisations etc.
Forum neutrality: Different perspectives are welcome; the process itself has no bias, but is designed to interrogate matters creatively – to explore, discuss, debate, openly, with curiosity as well as respect.
Share Relevant Information: Contribute valuable resources, articles, or personal experiences that are relevant to the topic of workplace psychological harm. When sharing information from external sources, please provide the source. And please respect copyright.
Moderation and Enforcement: To foster a safe, supportive, and respectful community, please adhere to the above guidelines. Moderators will enforce these rules to ensure a safe and supportive environment for all members.
Encouragement of Professional Support: While the group provides a supportive environment, we do not provide professional services or advice in this group. Those experiencing psychological harm may wish to seek professional help from therapists or counsellors. (NB We will discuss further together and add listings of relevant resources).
By adhering to these guidelines, we hope to create a safe, inclusive, and empowering space where individuals can learn, share, and collaborate for positive change.
